David Byrne

Born: 5/14/1952
Birthplace: Dumbarton, Scotland

A video and performance artist and the leader of the influential '80s rock group the Talking Heads, he turned to feature filmmaking with True Stories (1986), a satirical look at a fictional midwestern town. In 1987 he shared a Best Music Oscar for the score of Bernardo Bertolucci's The Last Emperor.
