A cushy spot in NBC's Thursday Must See TV lineup no longer guarantees success (remember Union Square?), but it does mean the network has some confidence that the show merits a coveted slot. Single mother Jesse Warner (Applegate) hasn't given up on her goal to become a nurse, though she has put her plans on hold to care for her 10-year-old son (Lloyd), her older brother, John, Jr. (Lehr), who's taken a vow of silence, and her younger brother, Darren (Weigel), who's broke and needs a place to crash.
