Mary Jane Latsis

(pseudonyms Emma Lathen, R. B. Dominic)

Born: 1927

Known to readers by her two pseudonyms, Latsis coauthored many successful mystery novels with her friend Martha Henissart. The duo met while attending graduate school at Harvard. Their books include Banking on Death (1961), Murder, Sunny Side Up (1968), and Brewing Up a Storm (1996). In 1967 their novel Murder Against the Grain won Best Crime Fiction Novel, awarded by the Crime Writers' Association.
