Burton Lane (Burton Levy) composer Born: 2/2/1912 Birthplace: New York City
A composer of numerous scores for Broadway musicals and Hollywood films, Lane collaborated with lyricists Ira Gershwin and Alan Jay Lerner. His Broadway successes include Finian's Rainbow (1947) and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever (1965). He also contributed songs to many Hollywood movies. His famous titles include “The Lady's in Love with You” (from Some Like It Hot, 1959) and “How About You?” sung by Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney in Babes on Broadway (1940). Died: 1/5/1997
