John Dos Passos

Born: 1/14/1896

American novelist who wrote the trilogies U.S.A. (completed 1936) and District of Columbia (completed 1949), as well as several other fictional works dealing with issues of social history and morality. Originally an advocate of radical left, Dos Passos' politics shifted to the conservative right in the latter half of his career.

Died: 9/28/1970
