Kitano's electrifying story of Japanese yakuza brothers breaks the rules of gangster flicks by mixing humor and tenderness with blood and guts. A yakuza chief named Murakawa (Kitano) is sent to protect a family in Okinawa, but the mission turns out to be a setup by rival gang members who are out to have him killed. Murakawa and his gangster comrades hide out and are caught unprepared for the final showdown.
