Singer who began as a teen idol with the rock 'n' roll hit “Splish Splash” (1958). Darin earned popularity with older audiences with the jazzy tune “Mack the Knife” (1959), for which he won two Grammy Awards. Darin sang and acted in many movies and married actress Sandra Dee in 1960. The couple divorced in 1967 and Darin died after heart surgery in 1973.
