Dirk Bogarde

Birthplace: London, England

Polished and sophisticated English actor who gained acclaim in the 1960's as the blackmailed homosexual lawyer in Victim (1961) and as the domineering valet in The Servant (1963). He is also noted for his superb performances in John Schlesinger's Darling (1965), Luchino Visconti's The Damned (1969) and A Death in Venice (1971), and Richard Attenborough's A Bridge Too Far (1977).
