Roddy McDowall (Roderick McDowall) actor Born: 9/17/1928 Birthplace: London, England
A child star whose success continued through adulthood, McDowall played boyhood roles in How Green Was My Valley (1941), My Friend Flicka (1943), and Lassie Come Home (1943). His later films include The Longest Day (1962), Cleopatra (1963), and The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965), though he is perhaps best known for portraying an ape in Planet of the Apes (1968) and its sequels. McDowall is also an accomplished photographer. Died: 10/3/1998
