Zellweger makes an impressive leap from Jerry Maguire's girlfriend to Sonia Horowitz, the wife of a Hasidic Jew (Fitzgerald) whose behavior proves to be anything but orthodox. Lonely and yearning for sexual experience, Sonia engages in trysts with her brother-in-law (Eccleston) and a Latino artist (Payne) that lead her to question the Hasidic community and her place within it.
