ABC was hoping for another Roseanne with this sitcom about a blue-collar family from Queens, New York. But with its meathead head-of-household, Mike (Wilson) and doting but exasperated wife (Overbey), That's Life emerges as an odd amalgamation of Home Improvement and All in the Family – without the affability or pointed social commentary.
