Cool Colorado scenery and an edge-of-your seat climax aren't enough to salvage this mess. Stone-faced FBI agent Frank LaCrosse (Quaid) has been doggedly pursuing a serial killer but is taken off the case when the murderer kidnaps his son. LaCrosse continues his mission, however, which eventually leads him into a cat-and-mouse game with Bob Goodall (Glover) and a hitchhiker, Lane Dixon (Leto), who's sharing a cross-country ride with Goodall. Twists and turns can't keep the killer's identity secret for long.
