Union Square | NBC | | Thursday 8:30–9:00 p.m.; canceled | | Cast: Constance Marie, Michael Landes, Harriet Sansom Harris, Jim Pirri, Jonathan Slavin, Jeffrey Anderson-Gunter and Christine Burke |
Hammocked between Friends and Seinfeld, a sitcom has to be pretty bad to fail. Manhattan's Union Square Diner feeds and employs a diverse group. Aspiring stage actress Mel Suarez (Marie), who isn't making a name for herself on Broadway, has plenty of spare time and spends much of it hanging out with ex-con cook Jack (Pirri), edgy real-estate agent Suzanne (Harris), clumsy waiter Albie (Slavin), the owner of the diner, Vince (Anderson-Gunter), and her roommate, Michael (Landes).
