Arto Lindsay

The Subtle Body

  • Bar/None

Guitarist, singer and songwriter Arto Lindsay used to be known for his noise-rock experiments. But he was born in Brazil and went all out for the pop music of that country in The Subtle Body, which is indeed subtle and only blossoms after repeated listening. While Lindsay enlists lots of famous helpers here, the whimsical songwriting carries the day with numbers like “Child Prodigy,” a pun-filled meditation on the wonder of a baby. The Subtle Body is an intimate collection held together by Lindsay's humble, charming vocals, softly bouncing melodies, erotic daydreams and a few romantic sighs.
