A dark portrait of post-adolescence. The 18 and 19 year olds in Chidhood's End are unusually comfortable with sex, sexuality and themselves — a nice departure from typical teen fare. Lipsky's debut film follows two unconventional couples, Greg (Trammell), a young photographer for a slick magazine, and his lover, his divorced neighbor Evelyn (Foord). The Graduate-like relationship doesn't seem to bother anyone except Greg's mother. When she realizes Greg will never be her soulmate, painfully shy Rebecca (Gottlieb) forms a union with Evelyn's lesbian daughter, Denise (Werthmann). An abrupt ending leaves many unanswered questions.
