A whimsical comedy that chronicles a tumultuous long weekend in the life of Al Fountain (Turturro). Uptight and joyless, Fountain is a rigidly dependable husband, exacting parent and a by-the-book electrical engineer. When he is unexpectedly laid off from a project, rather than go straight home, Fountain takes a detour, hoping to find himself. Instead, he finds Kid (Rockwell), a hippie-like society dropout who lives “off the grid,” stealing and selling lawn ornaments for a living. They take to the road together, and Kid injects Fountain with just enough mischievousness to color his formerly gray life.
