Quentin Tarantino loved this Chinese film so much that it became the first release from his distribution company, Rolling Thunder Pictures. The movie consists of two different stories, each one chock full of police detectives, mysterious women, offbeat romance, drug smugglers and gunplay. Camera angles, time-lapse photography and slow motion create dreamlike sequences. Viewers who want linear plot may be disappointed.
