When We Were Kings
This documentary looks well beyond the 1974 championship bout between Ali and Foreman in Kinshasa, Zaire, extending to the African-American experience, told through interviews with Lee and Hauser, archival film clips and music. Most interesting, however, is to see how Ali and Foreman reacted to Africa. When the fight was postponed and their stay prolonged by six weeks, Ali reached out and embraced the Zaireans while Foreman expressed annoyance. In case you've forgotten, Ali upset Foreman with an eighth-round knockout. Information Please® Database, © 2007 Pearson Education, Inc. All rights reserved.
