It took Pacino four years and about 80 hours of footage to complete this project, but boy, was it worth the wait. He takes a prohibitively complex play, Shakespeare's Richard III, and has a blast with it, making the work accessible for the masses and untangles it for himself, too. Using interviews with Richard experts, including Branagh and Redgrave, filmed excerpts from the play with himself playing Richard III, Baldwin as Clarence and Ryder as Lady Anne, and his own commentary, Pacino has created a fresh, enthusiastic documentary that will make audiences want to tackle the Bard's work themselves.
