What a waste. Murray is perhaps the most talented physical comedian in film today. He runs circles around Jim Carrey. Team him with a stubborn elephant and the sight gags should be many and side-splitting. But there's barely a laugh to be had. Motivational speaker Jack Corcoran (Murray) inherits from the father he never met a circus elephant and a large debt. His only option is to sell the beast, and the interested buyers are 3,000 miles away in California. The dull cross-country trip involves a train ride, a lift from an unintelligible redneck (McConaughey) and seemingly endless miles traveled on foot.
