I'm Not Rappaport
Matthau gives one of the best performances of his career as Nat Moyer, a ranting, 80-year-old communist troublemaker who can spin an outrageous yarn with convincing sincerity. But Matthau's feistiness can't save this poor adaptation of a wonderful play. Nat meets fellow octogenarian Midge (Davis) on a park bench, and the pair develop a friendship as they quibble and reminisce. When caught in sticky situations, Nat creates alter egos for himself and Midge, and they use their new identities to get themselves and others out of jams.
