Birthplace: Santa Monica, California
Academy Award-winning film actor, producer and director considered one of Hollywood's most popular and sought-after leading men. His films include Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), All the President's Men (1976), The Natural (1984), The Horse Whisperer (1998, which he also directed) and Spy Game (2001). Redford runs the Sundance Institute, an organization that promotes and supports independent filmmakers and sponsors the annual Sundance Film Festival.
