Academy Award -winning actress and businesswoman who enjoyed enormous success in silent films but faded when talkies arrived. With her second husband, Douglas Fairbanks, and Charlie Chaplin, she established United Artists in 1919. Her films include Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (1917) and Coquette (1929).
