American film actor and director widely considered the greatest comic actor in film history. Keaton used his acrobatic skills in his many roles as a deadpan hero who overcame potentially disastrous situations. His films include The General (1926), The Navigator (1924) and Sherlock Jr. (1924). Died: 2/1/1966
