Birthplace: New Orleans
Television journalist who attained his fame on NBC's Today Show from 1982 to 1997. Before joining Today, Gumbel hosted NBC's NFL '81. He hosted CBS's The Early Show (1999–2002). Since 1995, he has been the host of HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel and has signed to do play-by-play for the NFL Network.
