The Grateful Dead

psychedelic, country rock band

Groundbreaking band that was an innovator in psychedelic and country rock. The group is best known for its cult-like following, trance-inducing songs and drug use. When Garcia died in 1995, the remaining members disbanded to pursue other projects. The band's recordings include The Grateful Dead (1967), American Beauty (1970) and In the Dark (1987).
