Her films include Mildred Pierce (1945), Johnny Guitar (1955) and The Best of Everything (1959). The film Mommie Dearest (1981) was based on the novel by her daughter, Christina Crawford, who depicts her mother as a competitive, malicious, and overbearing figure. Died: 5/10/1977
