Bill Cosby actor, comedian Born: 7/12/1937 Birthplace: Philadelphia
Emmy and Grammy Award-winning television and film actor and comedian who was the first African-American to star in a television series, I Spy (1965–68). He also starred in The Cosby Show (1984–92), the multi-Emmy Award-winning family sitcom. He returned to television in 1996's Cosby. He is well-known for his public service, as well, having received both the Spingarn Medal and the Kennedy Center Honors.
