Emmy Award-winning television, film and stage comic actor known as “Mr. Television.” He starred in television's The Texaco Star Theater (1948–53) and appeared in the film It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963). Berle's widespread appeal helped spark the popularity of television.
