Annika Sorenstam,

Swedish professional golfer, created a media frenzy when she competed in the men's PGA Tour's Bank of America Colonial open in May. She missed making the cut into the final round by four shots. Sorenstam was the first woman to play in a men's PGA tournament since 1945, when Babe Didrikson Zaharias played in the Los Angeles Open. In August Sorenstam won the British Open to complete a career Grand Slam. She's the sixth woman golfer to do so. Sorenstam, the best woman golfer in the world, has won 43 LPGA events and nearly $12 million in prize money.
