Dixie Chicks, country music band, faced unexpected backlash after singer Natalie Maines said during a March concert in London, “We're ashamed that the president of the United States is from Texas.” Bandmate Emily Robinson added, “We support the troops 100%.” Nevertheless, sales of their album Home plummeted, and radio stations virtually banished the band from the airwaves.
