Silas Simmons

Negro leagues baseball player, believed to have been the longest-living professional baseball player in history. He pitched for several teams—including the Germantown Blue Ribbons and New York Lincoln Giants—beginning in 1912 or 1913.

Died: St. Petersburg, Fla., Oct. 29, 2006
