Oriana Fallachi

controversial Italian journalist who covered the Vietnam War and conflicts in the Middle East. She was known for her provocative interviews with world leaders, such as Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Henry Kissinger, and Yasir Arafat. In her recent works, including her novel The Rage and the Pride, written after Sept. 11, she lashed out against Islam.
