Stanley Kunitz Age: 100award-winning poet whose complex, metaphysical poetry often tackled personal and emotional themes. He won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry, a National Book Award, the National Medal of the Arts, and the Bollingen Prize. In 2000, at age 95, he was named Poet Laureate of the United States. His books include Selected Poems, 1928–1958, Passing Through: The Later Poems, New and Selected, for which he won the National Book Award in 1995, and Next-to-Last Things.
