Patrick Fitzgerald,

special counsel who spent two years investigating who leaked the identity of cover CIA officer Valerie Plame Wilson to the media, won wide praise for his handling of the October indictment of I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, Vice President Cheney's chief of staff. By most accounts, his investigation was painstakingly thorough, nonpartisan, and professional. He was also lauded for avoiding leaks during his lengthy investigation.
