Simon Wiesenthal Age: 96
Holocaust survivor who dedicated his life to tracking down fugitive Nazi war criminals. Calling himself the “bad conscience of the Nazis,” Wiesenthal claimed he exposed more than 1,000 war criminals. He wrote a two-volume memoir about his work, The Murderers Among Us and Justice, Not Vengeance. His tenaciousness resulted in death threats against him and his family. Died: Vienna, Austria, Sept. 20, 2005
