Barbara Bel Geddes

Emmy Award–winning actress who had a long career in film and on Broadway before landing the role that brought her wide fame: Miss Ellie, the Ewing matriarch on television's Dallas. Her film credits include I Remember Mama and Vertigo. She appeared in the original stage version of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Died: Northeast Harbor, Maine, Aug. 8, 2005
