Rafael Palmeiro,

Baltimore Orioles power hitter, was suspended for ten days in August after failing a drug test for steroids. During the previous off-season, Palmeiro was on the panel of players called before Congress to testify about steroid use in baseball. During testimony, he had adamantly denied ever taking steroids. The drug test he failed was administered only weeks after his congressional testimony.
