Jean Charles de Menezes,

27-year-old Brazilian electrician, was shot and killed by London police who thought he was a suspect in the July 7 terrorist attacks on the city's transit system. Authorities later acknowledged that he was not involved in the bombings. In addition, a report leaked in August contradicted earlier reports that Menezes was wearing heavy clothing on a hot day and that he ran from police. The report also said he was shot while being restrained.
