Kenneth Clark

Age: 90

educational psychologist and civil rights leader whose report on the detrimental effects of segregation and discrimination on children was cited by the U.S. Supreme Court in the 1954 ruling Brown v. Board of Education, which stated that “separate but equal” schools were unconstitutional.

Died: Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y., May 1, 2005
