Jennifer Wilbanks,

reluctant bride, caused panic in Duluth, Ga., in late April when she disappeared days before her wedding. Local officials organized a massive search and questioned her fiancé, John Mason. She turned up in Albuquerque, N.M., initially telling police she had been kidnapped. After questioning, she admitted that she lied and had planned to run away, buying a bus ticket about a week in advance. She was indicted by a grand jury in May and charged with falsely reporting a crime and making a false statement to a government official.
