Ezer Weizman Age: 80
Israeli politician who served as president from 1993 to 2000. He was a founder of the Israeli air force and commanded it from 1958 to 1966. In 1967, he led Israel's easy victory in the Arab-Israeli War. As a politician, Weizman went from hawk to dove, advocating for peace with the Palestinians and Egypt. His dialogue with Egyptian president Anwar Sadat helped secure the 1979 peace agreement between Israel and Egypt. Died: Caesarea, Israel, April 24, 2005
