Carleton “Carly” Fiorina,

business leader, was forced to resign as chief executive of Hewlett-Packard in February. HP's board of directors was unhappy with the company's profits and with her strategy, which failed to make the company competitive with rivals such as I.B.M. She took the helm in 1999, rising to become one of the most powerful women in business. Under her watch, the company's stock dropped by about 50%.
