Italian journalist, was fired at by U.S. troops in March, shortly after she was released from captivity by Iraqi insurgents. Italian intelligence agent Nicola Calipari, who was traveling in a car with her, was shot and killed. The U.S. military said the driver of the car failed to respond to soldiers' repeated requests to stop. Italian government officials disputed this claim and demanded an investigation into the accident.
