Henry Grunwald

Age: 82

Austrian-born journalist and diplomat who presided over TIME magazine as its managing editor from 1968 to 1979. He then became the editor in chief of TIME Inc. Under his tenure, the right-leaning magazine moved toward the center. He served as the U.S. ambassador to Austria under President Reagan.

Died: Manhattan, Feb. 26, 2005
