Steve Fossett,

millionaire business executive and adventurer, completed a nonstop 23,000-mile journey around the world in March, making him the first person in the world to do so. He circumnavigated the globe in 67 hours. The plane, a GlobalFlyer, was built by Burt Rutan, who also built SpaceShipOne, the first private spaceship to leave Earth's atmosphere. Fossett had already set a world record for flying a balloon around the world and has many other flying and sailing records.
