Maurice Wilkins

British biophysicist who contributed to the discovery of the double-helix structure of DNA, the chemical that carries hereditary characteristics from generation to generation. He won the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work, along with Francis Crick and James Watson.
