Sheik Ghazi Ajil al-Yawar,

Iraqi tribal leader, was named president of the interim Iraqi government in June. A Sunni and member of the Iraqi Governing Council, al-Yawar quickly moved to win the support of Iraqis, blaming the U.S. for the dismal situation in Iraq. The post of president is mostly ceremonial.
