Eleanor Holm Whalen Age: 90?
swimmer who won a gold medal in 100-meter backstroke at the 1932 Olympics. She created an Olympic-sized scandal in 1936 when she was kicked off the U.S. swimming team for drinking champagne in public and shooting craps with journalists while on board a ship bringing athletes to the Berlin games. Died: Miami, Fla., Jan. 31, 2004
