Pete Rose,

former professional baseball player, admitted in January that he did in fact bet on baseball games, including those involving his team, the Cincinnati Reds. He denied ever betting against the team, however. While Rose acknowledged what he had long denied, he did not apologize for the missteps that led to his banishment for life from professional baseball.
